Nice paint and sculpt (other than his right floating pigtail which would be an easy fix) for what it is;which as others say.....meaningless because of the historical inaccuracy.............

I'm getting a kick out of everyone disliking the figure because of historical inaccuracy. Its based on a movie character, thats its basis, not the real guy. Unfortunately it doesn't really look like the movie guy that its based on. Whether Mels version of history was appalling or just entertaining has nothing to do with whether the figure hit the mark or not. I would be the first to slam it to death if they were passing it off as a historical William Wallace, but thats not the case. I would love to have this fig if it looked just like Mel and would likely snap it up, but I won't because it doesn't.

Well I don't give a flying f--k whats wrong with it,i'm definitely getting it and mine will have the blood and shit on it as well

Well yes they are basing it on a historical theme going by the wording on the box art . If they wanted to sell it as the film character they should have labelled it Mel Gibbson from the film Wallace , not William Wallace Guardian of Scotland . Don't like the bust but the paint work is stunning .

They wouldn't be able to put Mel Gibson's name to it without paying a fortune to acquire image rights, otherwise his lawyers and those of the film company would be down on them like a ton of bricks if they got wind of it.

The way I see it is that in trying to be "all things to all painters", it fails on both counts: It looks enough like Mel Gibson to turn off the "accuracy" guys and those who hated the film, but not enough like him to appeal to guys (like Jason) who would have preferred NP to have done it properly and put out a really good likeness of the actor.

Not one I'll be picking up, but as others have said - it's an absolutely stunning piece of painting.

Beautiful figure, and beautifully painted, as many have said....but not Gibson.

Honestly, to me, it looks as much like Liam Neeson ( esp around the eyes )
as it does Mel Gibson. Anybody else see that ?

Well,it's only my opinion, but I think it's a good likeness and when I look closely I can see Gibson in it but I appriciate it won't be everyone's bag,but I really like it

A great job of painting, terrific textures with all the elements. The modelling no works for me. Is clear for the colours used, armor and sword, Nuts is trying to replicate Mel Gibson at Braveheart movie, and this face is not Mel. With indepence of the debate about historical accuracy, and the undoubtedly quality of the sculpt and casting, this figure failed with his goal. So, IMO, Nocturna's sculpt is Mel Gibson, and Nuts Planet Sculpt isn't. As Tony wrote, i'll not pay a premium price for something that is not a premium bust. I'll pay a premium price for Lagertha's bust of Nuts, cause there's is no doubt. With independece of historical accuracy, she is Lagertha, the character from Vikings' serie.

IMO the "mistake" is the part of eyes and nose. I think that chin, mouth and the part up the brow look like Mel. My skills of sculptor are 0, so maybe i write a big stupidty

You don't need to be a sculptor to look at a figure and know whether it looks like the subject its supposed to represent. Perhaps if you were going to comment on a specific technique or tool used by the sculptor, then it would be a necessity. Otherwise, your eyes work just fine.

Hi
I think we all agree its a terrific sculpt, ok so its not Mel Gibson
but the costume is based on how he appeared in the film Brave heart
so on that level its a really good figure

I prefer this one.....looks a bit like the actor James Cosmo
who also was in Braveheart.......just a thought
