New Release- Russian Grenadier Battle of Borodino 1812

Hi All

Please see the latest release from Bonaparte Military Models. This is a Russian Grenadier from the Battle of Borodino 1812. The is scultped by Richard Bailey and is 230mm scale and cast in resin with a metal pin through the flag pole. Maybe it's me but I think it would work better with him holding a musket rather than the flag.

No doubt tis will be very impressive painted up

Really nice piece. I like the Richard Bailey models but I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say that the right forearm of the rear figure seems to appear bent rather than running straight from the wrist to the elbow. IMHO it should be more like the right one on the wounded chap.

Apart from that, which should be possible to change by removing some of the sleeve to create a straighter line, this may find its way into my model cabinet......dom

You usually don't see this much action in a bust! That's refreshing and the emotion shown on the grenadier's face is well done!

But I agree with Dominic - that forearm looks bent.

Your grenadier nothing to do with the Russian army in 1812 has not.
On it the shape and equipment to the 1805-07 year.

i take it the 230mm measurement is its height to the top of the flag, is this 1/9 or 1/10 scale?
