I agree with Ron that the dark paint hides the swirlies in the bearskin. Its a very nice bust and they have done a super job on all the detail.

Interesting that I am seeing a recurring style resulting in a wide bridge on all of this sculptor's noses - male and female. That's not a critique. Its sort of like a poker tell, and every sculptor has them.

Re the blue Senior Debrito, well it could be argued that it is to light for a Garde unit .
Here is what I have , will start with the high command .

Two of those pictures are from Les invalides , uniforms over 200 years old so would have been even darker .
Now I am not up to speed on sapper bearskins but the third picture here looks much more accurate re Garde bearskin height but I am sure some Nap freak will have the actul regulation height .

If you wish to continue this discussion it would be best to move it over to a new thread .

Constipated freak!!! Harsh words indeed , call me a freak if you like but I ain't constipated

I happen to take a mild pharmaceutical remedy for any constipation, which is a great comfort.:X3: I don't mind being a freak.... it sets one apart from the common herd:wacky:
This is a remarkably detailed sculpt, and were I a "bustekeer", it would be in my 'to do' list.

Another great release from Nuts Planet, sure we will watch various painted at PF.
I'm not an expert in this period, but i always read that the Napoleon's guard, overall the old guard were units composite by veterans of at least four campaigns, with three or four times the normal pay for salary, and they were full of tattoos, gold earrings and long whiskers; looking like more a pirate than a soldier, and i've never seen this caracterization, that could be very versatile and fun to paint.
