Digital artists, yeah sure ;) (RGB are the additive primaries Steve.)

Just using primaries isn't the point, but in case you're interested you can successfully paint with just three primaries (plus white unless you're painting as you would with watercolour). Having a black as well is desirable but not absolutely necessary unless you need the darkest values you can get.

Matt finish !!! for gold !!! silver !!!

The shine is created artificially through painting not with gloss, like the old masters did.

:inpain: Lemme see: ivory, can mix it; yellow, check; ochre, check; light brown, can mix it; brown, check; scarlet, check; light blue, can mix it; dark grey, can mix it. Yep, don't need it.

If only we were all as talented and adept at color as you, these types of sets would not be needed. But for the miserable masses of us without your education in the fine arts we must lean on them. Count yourself a very lucky man.

I totally agree with your point of view about the usefullness of the set and the advantages for the miserable masses:). Still I think that the difficult side might be the need to work with mixes and glazes to acchieve results as shown on the box of these paint bottles. The old masters did not become masters because they had a special paint set....:D
For me it is a welcome guide for basic colors recommended to "paint" metal. It will depend on the retail price if I consider to buy a set. Several of these nice color tones could be used for other projects as well if they have the advertised super matt finish.
Cheers, Martin

For anyone interested in this set, I got my set last week and decided to give it a try. The colors are spectacular to say the least but one thing I did notice is that they are different than any other acrylic color I have used. They dry a whole lot slower than regular acrylics. Don't know if it's a formulation issue or what but if you are into wet blending then these are perfect. It took about two minutes for the paint to dry rather than the usual 15-20 seconds with most acrylic paints. I thinned them a lot to see consistency of the paint and it stood up very well. No need to add flow improver or any other additive. I am a huge fan of Scale 75 after painting one of their kits and love the quality so I expected the same with the paints. I wish they dried a little quicker cause I don't wet blend but the colors are vivid and sharp.
