Hi all

I am pleased to announce the release of my latest 2 busts - additions to my range of Mess Dress subjects, this time contemporary 2 female officers; one of the Lt Dragoons, the second an officer of the Honourable Artillery Company.

The reference material for these buts is a combination of the regiments twitter/Facebook pages and the website of one of the tailors which makes uniforms for the regiments.

Firstly, the bust of the Light Dragoon officer:

next is the officer of the Honourable Artillery company:

After producing the head I decided she might look a little 'harsh' so the kit also includes a second version of the head, one with a slightly different hairstyle - a fringe.

As normal, they are available form my website for £20.00 each.

Hi Peter

Nice to see mess dress being released , presumably these are based on actual officers ...wasn't she thr first female officer cer in Lt Dragoons ?

Nice to have the hair option ...personally woukd have preferred a longer style

These do have conversion potential as well

Thanks for sharing p

you are right that the Lt Dragoon's bust is inspired by their first female officer, this tweet to be precise:

I have deliberately not tried to represent the actual officer, I think that it is a little discourteous to make and sell a bust of a living person without their approval, so this bust is inspired by the tweet.

The Hon Artillery Co bust is based on the uniform which the tailors Goldings have on their website. I have assumed that since they are producing a femal mess dress, there must one/more female officers. There are some regiments where they do not have female uniforms so presumably if they have one on their website they must have produce one.

I did find an answer to a Freedom of Information request which lists the numbers of male/female officer in the British Army: https://assets.publishing.service.g...20160823-FOI07470_77522_Personnel_Stats-O.pdf

it is quite surprising the amount of information available through FOI requests.
