Both this and the Hussar are full of detail and character (almost caricatures, but all the better for it).

I must ask: what is it with the deep chin clefts... is it a bit of a signature feature?

Great sculpt, both.

As a comic aside, Will Carling had a notable chin cleft, earning him the title ‘bum face’ amongst his England rugby colleagues.

Next one could be Kirk Douglas in Paths of Glory?

... though I suspect that the miserable looking bod sat to Kirk's right is more in keeping with this series/style

Thanks all for the input, the chin cleft ha! Call it a trade mark.
Its part of my sculpting process that I have a habit of leaving in the finished item.
Those of you that know me and my work , it has a habit of being left field.
Very little film star but Kirk Douglas has one heck of face, that would be a pleasure to tackle.
Thanks again
Best regards

Hi Paul,

Some fantastic stuff on your site* (and some great fish ... and bikes (y) )

I thought for a moment that you'd done Kirk,, but turns out to be another Douglas (whatever rank and however you want to spell it)

Kirk (now 102) has a very distinctive face... even more so in 'The Vikings' where he'd lost an eye to Tony Curtis' hawk... see here and here

Neil

*BTW: pics on 'Busts page 2' are not coming up (all others are)
