Thanks for the encouragement Neil, Steve, JM, Gary and Adrian. I've spent a lot of time thinking about the layout so it's very helpful to get some feedback that it's going in the right direction.

I've started painting the figures, so will post some updates when I make progress.....

I hope I can do it justice Andy. Your book has been got off the shelf, I've just ordered some copper wire to make some screw pickets, will be trying to make some cigarette packets and barbed wire reels using your methods.

Fantastic lay out Nigel, you'll need a large area to highlight the devastation of the Western Front, a tight composition just wouldn't have had the same impact. Looking forward to the painting.

First couple of figures are done, six left to go. Room for improvement in a number of areas but these will be dirtied up and will be part of a bigger scene, so minor paintjob issues hopefully won't be an issue....

No issues with the painting of this pair, only thing I can see is the first fellas hand is missing. Love the shade of khaki you have used, this is shaping up to be an epic diorama.
