Hi Nigel - I'm just catching up here and saw your posts. Amazing looking project, and very ambitious. I sure like your approach, as it looks like it'll be quite the showpiece when done, and so indicative of war in the trenches...very iconic. Looking forward to watching this one indeed!
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks for the encouragement Neil, Steve, JM, Gary and Adrian. I've spent a lot of time thinking about the layout so it's very helpful to get some feedback that it's going in the right direction.

I've started painting the figures, so will post some updates when I make progress.....

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I'm busy painting the figures at the moment which will take a while, I'll post some updates when I have made some serious progress.

If only there was a way to incorporate a “mini” smoke/fog machine in the base.
Oh for the days of smoking when we could puff a bit of cigarette smoke over the finished work as we took pictures.....🙂

First couple of figures are done, six left to go. Room for improvement in a number of areas but these will be dirtied up and will be part of a bigger scene, so minor paintjob issues hopefully won't be an issue....

These figs are looking very good, Nigel, tops! I love the shading and work on the blue tones, excellent! This "will" be epic!

Ruck On!

No issues with the painting of this pair, only thing I can see is the first fellas hand is missing😉. Love the shade of khaki you have used, this is shaping up to be an epic diorama.
