Hi every one
My name is Ben and I’m new to the forum, though I have been following for some time. I thought it was time to join (and I was encouraged too as a way of getting some questions answered) so hear it goes my first questions. I have been painting figures for the last 15 years. I have just started trying to sculpting after truly inspired my Anders Heintz, Calvin Tan, Mike Blank and Jason Whitman’s blogs.. The problem I have is with the armatures. I have been using the Michael Roberts Mannequins with good effect. However I’m trying to find torso and pelvis pieces like the ones used by Jason Whitman He suggested that I ask on the forum to see if anybody knew where I could get these kind of pieces ( especially the pelvis that has a rump to it) I’m looking for both 1/35 and 54mm torso and pelvis parts . If anybody has these for sale or knows how I could get some please let me know
Also does anybody know where somebody can get metallic printers ink or the brand name of a company that makes it?
Thanks every body

Hello Ben,

Welcome to you on Planet.
I'm sure a forum buddies, you'll help to give you the information you want.
Sincerely,
Simon

Thanks for the welcome guys.... Housecarl thanks for the link to the site always looking for new suppliers even if they are on the other side of the pond ( I live in Canada)

Welcome aboard Ben! (y) Nice to see another Canadian :)

Some of the armature parts seen are sometimes castings made privately from a sculptor or one of his producers and thus unlikely to be found retail.

I dupe alot of my recurring parts by making a hard mold of duro (green stuff) or from sculpy using the Shep Paine mold regime. Which now that I think of it would make a good article ;)

Never hold back on the questions everyone here is approachable and extremely helpful, might take time to get the questions answered because the right one is 12 timezones away ;)

Hello Ben, I can't help you on the pelvis front.

Thanks Gordy ( are you west coast or east)
I have tryed using majic sculp didn't turn out all that well. Didn't even think about using Green stuff and I have tons of that stuff knocking around.
Can you use resin in a duro mold?....and being a fellow Canadian where do you get your casting supplies?
One last thing Gordy were you working on some scot figures of the French and Indian war I think the last post I saw of them they were WIP are the done and painted yet would love to see the finish work.
Thanks again

My last project was a trio of 54mm Highlanders, which are now in the hands of Joe Hudson to paint, I'll poke him for an update :D
