I am concerned! .. It is now the 2nd. Err what happened to the last 48hrs.? .. Granted head in bucket! and upsetting my wife's family, is to be expected. But what about the rest???

In Welsh, the double "d" is pronounced as a deep "th" , as in "this " or "that"; hope my explanation makes it clearer
Probably not For instance, the first word of the greeting "Blwyddyn"(year) would look ,phonetically, as Blooithin, the "y" pronounced as a short "i". I think that's about right. Newydd (nooith), dda (thar) As it gets all turned around in Welsh, it's Happy New Year.

While we're still on the "New Year" thread, thought I'd share this little rhyme my daughter sent us, sung to the tune "Auld Lang Syne"
Should old bath sealant start to rot,
And never clean up bright,
Than spend New Year's sealing your bath
And forget about the night
It made me chuckle,anyway.

Funny you should mention this as I have just finished fitting a new bathroom suit and found a great way to apply the sealants

Technically this is known as getting away from the thread - I'm expert at this but you've both won my admiration for taking a thread to wish people a happy new year to a discussion about bathroom sealants via a discussion of the pronunciation of the Welsh language and helping someone who's lost track of time! Brilliant.
