I have gotten interested in tin/ lead figures of Greek Hoplites that are on Ebay. Are the quality of them good (Russian) and are they worth the money. Looks like one bidder runs them up over $100.00 no matter how well they are done.

I would like to do a Thermopylae Dio in the Home theater room, but as a Police Officer with a 16wk old, trying to create good figures is not on the doable list.

Please toss me some advice and does anyone know the quality to the Thermopylae line sold by Rosedale figures in UK??
Thanks,
Mark :(

Hi Mark and welcome to the planet!

I dont know the figures youre refering to or the price asked. I do however know that Andrea Miniatures has this vignette available as a kit for about 80 Euros: Its called "Spartas last stand."
Perhaps this could be of interest?

Hey to Mark,

I'm not sure which ebay items you're asking about but the Hoplite figures sold by 'collector thrills' on ebay are Russian & are very well done figures with lots of detail. I think he has 2 or 3 different Hoplite figures in all, each one is a great stand alone figure, but their poses make them difficult to put together in the same diorama. You sure can't go wrong with the Andrea vignette. Happy painting!

Thanks to all that replied. If there are some other figures out there, let me know.
Unfortunately I already have the Andrea figures. I am looking to do something like 22" wide and about 24" long in 54mm. Gotta make the room look good, so I need more figures without trying to put a lein on the house.
