Nice figure. Thanks Chronos. We are here to get info on new releases for our hobby, not to be lectured by self appointed commisars about what subject is proper to paint and in what style. What will come next? Women only in niqab because for some that's the proper clothing?

Buy and paint what you like mate but don't come on here and tell people they are not allowed to have an opinion. Those that don't like a piece have as much right to say so as those who do. Nice first post BTW.

Listen 'mate', opinion can anybody have. The problem is after his 'opinion' Nat was considering blocking the thread. Gary's aim it seems to be to get rid of subjects he don't likes. I like this forum and don't want narrow minded fanatics to destroy it. The censoring that bothers me. Yes this is my first post, although I'm following the thread for years. That somebody posted here and is a well-known member doesn't mean (citing somebody) that it added anything valuable to our hobby.

Firstly I think you'll find you were referring to Nap rather than Nat.

The reason that he was considering locking the thread was not an immediate reaction to and supporting Gary's post, but occurred further down the thread and appeared to be in response to the rather extreme reaction from the producer who took offence at posts suggesting that the subject was inappropriate and 'titillating' (Pun intended)
Nap's vast experience of the way similar threads degenerate into mud slinging and name calling meant that, as Moderator, it is his role to support the Forum and it's rules: Perhaps reading them might be 'helpful' to both newcomers and producers

For what it's worth I agree that the subject, whilst well sculpted, is in poor taste and whilst it may sell in enough numbers to justify producing it the producers complete outrage when he is offering it up for opinion on a public forum is rather disappointing and instructive. It was being shown on a public forum to advertise and encourage sales. Not everyone agrees that such subjects are appropriate or welcome; this does not mean they are 'narrow minded fanatics' merely that they have a different point of view.

Banjer said it best - Buy and paint what you like, but don't come on here and tell people that they are not allowed to have an opinion. Those that don't like a piece have as much right to say what they want as those that do.

If I misunderstood Nap's reason for blocking the thread, I'm sorry. As I wrote it previously the prospect of censoreship that frightened me.

Nobody is going to censor anybody here for their opinion. It's the tone in which discussions are held, or those opinions are voiced, which would determine the need to close a thread. We are all sensible people here, from different backgrounds, and different tastes, but with one overriding common interest, painting models. Some like WWII, some like Napoleon's Army, some like over proportioned barbarians (or Warhammer..;):D) .

THANK YOU Paul ....well explained in the way I would have said

it is historically known that women did fight along men, and often were bare chested. Is it everyones cup of tea, no, but me personally, i like it and most likely will get one.
I paint all genres, so i appreciate all aspects of this great hobby. Some people need to lighten up, and appreciate all the great works we are being presented with.

I am not a fantasy-figure fan but that beautiful model has so much self-assurance in expression, will be perhaps my first 70mm-80mm figure. Ah, by the way i have seen also now an archaic archer in the same range with similar apparition. Fine style.
