Dear friends!

After the success of the limited series resin of our reference Saxon Chieftain in Torrent. Let me introduce you, to the Box-Art of our latest figure. Some of you have expressed, that they are very interested in getting this piece modeled by Raúl G. Latorre.

Our Saxon Chieftain has been painted by our Artistic Coordinator, Jesús Valera Navarro certainly will be not the last. The painting is based on the theory of creating a whole atmosphere.

In the following months could we see an article step by step the process of modeling and painting, where you can appreciate the great work done by Jesus Valera.

Another of our news, shaped by Raúl G. Latorre and painted by Antonio Rodriguez Trimiño, which represents a Panzer Officer and a part of the turret (Scale 1:35), during the Second World War, this figure will be limited edition of 300 units in resin only.

I Love Lattore Figures! I really do hope they make a big come back. Raul is a great sculpter and painter. I'm in with the saxon also, great figure.

Saxon is great. Big fan of Latorre's work.
Currently working on Art Girona's Zouave and recently AG's Atilla, also both from his magic sculping hands.
They are a great joy to paint.

The fact that the Panzer Officer doens't inspire us/me, is making no difference to the fact that the head has some nice character. It's not produced for the figure painting world, but for the AFV builders amongst us, hence the 1/35 scale.
A totally different hobby IMO.
It would make a nice addition to a panzertank and something different then all those Hornet heads people use.

Great news, always buy all Latorre figures, really glad the release in resin, hopefully all future releases has resin options as it is easy to clean, handle and transport.....

An old thread but I thought I'd resurrect it and comment anyway:

The Saxon is a one-piece casting except for the right hand holding the sword, and the bottom half of the sword scabbard.

The latter though completely defines logic: There is hardly any surface area for the bottom half of the scabbard to key onto when you fix it in place, and it's too small to pin. Consequently the connection is very fragile, and anything but the most gentle of gentle touches will knock it off during painting or handling (I've managed to knock it off twice already). Probably best to not even risk breathing on it too heavily!

It would have made much more sense to cast the complete scabbard as a separate piece to fix whole onto the figure's body. I really can't understand why they made it like this.

Also, the groundwork and raven depicted on the box art are NOT included. You only get a small (approx. 3.5 cm x 2 cm) and very basic metal base.

Other than those caveats, it's a nice enough figure. The quality of the metal casting is very good, with minimum clean-up needed (just a couple of faint seams on mine).
