In 1981, the USSR made a very good movie about the partisan Denis Davydov, who served in the Akhtyrskiy regiment.
The movie has very good songs based on the poems of Denis Davydov.
It is called " Squadron of Flying Hussars"

Part 1

Part 2

Another excellent release from Chronos. Yet another one to add to the list...It’s getting difficult to keep up with them all.

The information provided on their uniforms is fascinating but I admit to being bewildered by the different colour schemes.

No doubt one of our Russian friends will know, but is there a reliable reference table in existence showing the different colour combinations? For example, I can’t see anything on the purple breeches in the references, but perhaps this is just a function of the colour reproduction? Also there are several shades of blue and grey, not to mention green! I fully realise that exact colours were never realised with the lack of colour fast dyes and the effects of campaigning in the elements but it would be great to at least know with a little confidence what they were supposed to be...

Any expert guidance would be most appreciated.

Well done Chronos!

Chronos is rapidly becoming the leader in high quality napoleonic kits and for a good reason. This one's already on my list. The version with the purple overalls is stunning.

Oda.

P.S: The artwork of Victor Boltishev is PHENOMENAL!!!!!

I could not agree more Oda. Another CHRONOS order list is underway.

The pictures show colored dress breeches. In the war, the Hussars used gray hiking leggings. These grey breeches were standard for all Russian cavalry.

I am a little surprised that both types of sabretaches (double headed eagle and the Alexander cypher) were not included so one could depict all of the hussar regiments. Other than that, another outstanding CHRONOS release.

Recent research by the largest specialists on the Russian army during the Napoleonic Wars showed that officers ' tablets had a two-headed eagle in all the regiments.
