Russian 24-pound ship pig-iron gun (long) on the wheel machine of a sample of 1833
CHM-A30.01 (Accessories series)
Scale: 1/30. Number of parts: 29. Material: resin kit. Color: ellow.
Made ir Russia. Date release: July, 2014.

24-pound (150 mm) gun with 21 caliber barrel, usually palced on a battery deck of the ship.The smooth bore cast iron barrel was placed on wooden truck machine. The gun crew included 5 people. It was loaded mannualy from the muzzle end. The angle of elevation reached 10 degrees. Average weight of the gun was about 2,6 tons, at a full load it was capable of reaching frining range of 2.4 km.
These guns were widely employed in defense of Sevastopol, they were transferred from battle ships flooded in the Sevastopol bay during the Crimean (East) war, 1853-56.

24 pounders go back to at least the late 17th century. Used by most pf the larger navies as well as shore (as here at Sevastapol) batteries. 32,24, 12 pounders were the norm on Third rate warships and above.
