A NEW release fro Chronos.Well, this summer just got a little better, for me at least.A decent female historical figure is a rare occurence in our field.I'm definitely getting this one.Great work Chronos.

Interesting colour variations between the Sepia Photo which is clearly not yellow and the Museum Uniform which is Yellow as the Box Art-I assume she had more than one Uniform has anyone an idea of the darker colour in the photographs.....................where are you Tadatsugu when I need you? Always such a mine of great and accurate information.

On old photographs yellow and red appeared darker than prussiablue for example.See photos from GermanWW I-fighters or studiophotos from pre 1914 Prussian regiments.

Keith, orthochromatic film stock used then often plays games with the lightness of a colour. As Tom W. wrote, a relatively well known picture of chrome yellow painted german WW1 fighters (Pfalz DIII) shows them almost black. So depending on the b/w film used light colours actually could be displayed dark. Sometimes even fair skinned people look quite dark on such old photos.
