Hello my fellow figure lovers. News Jeff has just announced a new line of 75mm figures here is the first. Here is the info Jeff sent me.
75mm- JS750001, title is " Colour-sergeant, 93rd Highlanders, 1854-56", designed base on Bill Horan's same title figure.
But I have one concern about his rifle! the rifle is Enfield Pattern 1853, as my see many reference pics of The Crimean War 1854, the rifled was Pattern 1851, and Bill Horan made Pattern 1851 too.
And a question Now my question is can I use the Enfield Pattern 1853 on this figure?
Figure is 75mm Resin

Should be ready now or very soon.

The 93rd used the 1851 Minie rifle in the Crimea, the 3 band enfield in the Indian Mutiny. It looks kinda big as well. The sporran is wrong it should be the six tassled badger head for SNCOs. and officers.

If Bill is okay with it, here's hoping Jeff replicates nearly every figure he's done over the last 20 years!

Wouldn't that be a treat... and all in 75mm too. Maybe some of the dioramas and vignettes as well. If that ever happens, I'll have to sell my wife into slavery.... She might not like it but it is what it is;)

I really like the figure, but the musket I see too large in size.

This is a shame. I love this figure, subject, scale, pose, etc. It ticks all the boxes.
But the rifle simply looks out of scale. He'd have to be Arnold Scharzenagger to cart that about. No amount of painting will paint it any smaller.

As for the gun... If the fig is not yet in production, it can be fixed. If production has started, there has to be a replacement 75mm rifle out there. I wouldn't dismiss this figure over something that can be rectified without redoing the entire sculpt.

That's just me

Have to agree with the observations above re. the rifle.

But otherwise it's a great-looking figure and it's nice to see Jeff branching out from his WWII Germans comfort zone.

Not a figure for me this one, but I look forward to seeing what else Jeff has up his sleeve.

Guys,
I have an update for you from Jeff. He will redo the gun to make it closer to scale before it goes into production. Also Scotty stated that the sporran is wrong it should be the six tassled badger. Jeff said he will also correct this. Jeff says he thanks you all for your comments and help in correcting things such as this to make his figures more accurate and thus one you guys would want to own. Regards Brock

Top stuff, in fact any such criticism was only ever meant to be constructive.

I may well purchase one now. Manufacturers, take note!;)

Is there any clue about the lead time this'll take?

I may wait until after Christmas now anyway, as the Postal system goes into meltdown.

Guys,
Jeff again thanks you all for the kind words. He let me know the changes are not that difficult. I will ask about a time frame. Also thank you for the info regarding helping Jeff as I know from my many e-mails and friendship from him he wants to have an outstanding product and following. Oh And for those who remember the 200mm Mg gunner he is going to be making the corrections to that guy as well I'll keep you all posted. Regards Brock
