Hi Vladi,

Absolutely superb sculpting mate. The only thing it needs is a couple of M18 smoke grenades.

The modified SLR rifle (in the right hand) has had the flash suppressor removed, a hand grip added to the stock and is fitted with a 30 round magazine (normal SLR's carry a 20 round magazine). SAS removed the flash suppressor to increase the muzzle flash and noise to bewilder and confuse the enemy and make them think they were being fired on by a larger calibre weapon.

I'll defintely be ordering this figure and the other SAS figure giving "the bird".

Thanks friends!

Tony, yes, when figure will be available, this kit will be content 2 smoke grenades,compass/first aid pouch on the belt (you can see place for this pouch on belt, without eyelets) ,2 Aussies canteens,2 US canteens and taped K-bar knife .

Exellent work Vladi, the sculpting is first class and i love the field modded SLR which really sets the period.

Great figure!
My first thought was that I'm looking at a 1/16 figure.
Superb sculpting indeed!

Hi Vladi,

very good Figure. Nice addition to the other one. Good work on the L1A1 rifle. It was time that someone make an good looking bush hat wit short brim. A nice features are also the SAS ammunition pouches. The L34A1 is a cool addition as second weapon. Could it be that the next guy you are working on will have no weapon and the two stands beside each other? Or is that only a secondary weapon for him.Beside this I have converted an L34A1 with a xm-148 grenade luncher under it. Looks very cool. Perhaps an idea for Future Figures ;-). Hopefully these are not the only SAS guys from you. We wand more, more, more :). Great work Vladi and i will definitely order these guy when he is aviable. With a little luck the Vietcong Figures from you i have ordered will arrive today. Can´t awaid it to see them in nature :).

Many Greetings

Stefan

Thanks Stefan!
You`re right.L34A1 is not his second weapon. It`s weapon of his comrade:)
Comrade is now in process now (in Tiger suit:))
4th SAS will be with m16/grenade launcher.

Hi Vladi,

lol, i think i have read your mind ;-). Sounds very good and with the tiger stripe uniform it´s something different. It´s hell to paint these pattern right. This is a very good site for inspiration: http://alphaimagemodelworkshop.com/Web pages/Article pages/LRRP1.htm

The plans for the 4th guy sounds very Interesting to me. What´s about an grenadier vest for him. I my mind are this Soldier on Plate G (Number 1) in this ANZAC book. That would be an very cool Figure. Whatever you choose, i´m sure it will be a great Figue like your other work. I think in the Future we will see many Vietnam dio´s/Vignettes ;-).

Now it´s sleeping time and so i wish all a good night and hopefully i don´t snore to loudt :).

Greetings

Stefan

Stefan,thanks for link!
You`re right,Tiger camo is not simpliest thing in this world,but...there is no Vietnam theme without Tiger stripes and we must bring this cross))))
About 4th figur.I`m planning to give him special SAS 5-pockets grenade pouches on shoulders

Vladi

wow!!!!

Many congratulation Vladi yhis figures is fine indeed...and i hope to will see as soon as is possible the other two aussie...i like so much this one ,becouse i could buy two and trasform one in us figures....to stay with your platoon figures...the other two future aussie will be trasform(from me ...) in us gi in jungle ...what do you think about it?ps. Two days ago, i ordered from Sockhelshop your three viet cong.......!!!!!!!!!PS: My platoon figures are waiting for the last two(your) platoon sits figures (red and junior)......are they coming? Congratlation again. I have bought a book on nam green beret...if you ll need other pictures....email me!!!!Mario from Italy.

Gracias Mario!
I`m not sure about easy conversion of Aussies to GIs...another rucksacks, another pouches, ammo belts in tubes around torsos...But of course,if you`ll make it-it`ll be great and I d like to see result!
About Platoon sitting figures,I prepared wire sceleton for 4 sitting figures,to my opinion 4 sitting figures on M113 are most better than 2 sitting figures))))
Vladi

Great Idea with this 5 pocket harness. I have tried to find some Information about this but it´s difficult. Think it will look great. Sounds good about the 4 sitting ducks :). That will be a nice addition for all the Vehicle guys and will pimp up every M113, V100 etc...

PS: I have become all your Vietcong Figures Yesterday and they are amazing. Great Detail and i love the poses. Fast essemble and very good fit. Only the hands are a little bit tricky.I only have changed the M1 with an SKS rifle because the magazin was broken and now it looks great too.

Great work and go on with that great stuff.

@ Mario,

i have the same idea about that converting ;-) and with some gear cutting it could be possible. The SAS uses a lot of US gear and weapons in combination with their special SAS pouches. To converte them to US troops will be some work but a lot of fun. I think the most work will be the cutting or sanding of the rucks. I´m thinking about to scratchbuild some leigtweight rucksack frame. This was still used by both sides. The ones from Plus Model are a great start but not correct at all. I´m now in process to convert the other Figures to LRRP or SAS guys. Will post some in Progress Pictures.

Many Greetings

Stefan

Danke Stefan!
About VC.I bought 2 nice books ("Schiffer") about VC and get great inspiration with all those photos and info.I`d like to continue this VC series.

Lightweight rucksack frame is real head pain for me...I`m thinking about good and realistic way of making it...and main...casting of it.As my father said:"There is no any impossible, you only must find right solution":)

P.S. Stefan,I`m looking forward for your conversion and Vietcong figure with SKS!

Hi Vladi,

thanks for your nice words and yes Your father is right and very wise :). More VC would be welcome by everybody i think. Also some NVA. I love their Uniforms and these cool Pit helmet. About the leightweight rucksack frame i know that James 'O Leary makes some fantastic frames with copper wire and metal folie. His site Hard Core Hobbies is out of order and does no longer exist :-(. But i have all his photos saved on my Computer long befor the site was down. Two of his Photos where you can good see what he done is on my armorama photo album. Here is the link for my album:
http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showphoto.php/photo/239952/ppuser/22372

PS:The ones from Plus Model are good but they has left away the "ears" on the sides where the harness is fit. Here is the link:
http://www.plusmodel.cz/karta_en.php?id=209

For reproduction you can built an rucksack on the frame end and under it the frame for the resin like you done under your Figures or the equipment. Take a look on the top row and the third rucksack from the left on the picture from Plus Models.if you click on it it will pop up. The second one from the top is complete false in measurements and form. Only the third one is good for start. You have all the harness on them and still need to add the "ears".You could built a frame with ARVN pack or and with an us tropical pack for example. s You can fill the hollow with white glue or tape. I have try it out and it still works fine for me. It`s thin and transparent when dry. The silikon don´t sticking on it and that´s all ;-).

I try to add some in progress pictures in my album here but become an error message. I will try out again. The conversion from one LRRP is nearly done and the VC with SKS is ready too.

PS: The guys on the Photos are not me. If someone have copyright problems with it i will delete them for sure.

many Greetings

Stefan :)

Here is the wip for the little conversion Vladi,

first one is Taylor conversion,

second one R.T.O with complete new collar and Hobby Fan head without the speaker on headset. I will add this later. Lot of work to do.

i will add some equipment like knife, water bottles, machete etc., the head is from Hornet and will be painted in tiger stripe or black. The weapon consist of three parts. The right arm is original with new hand from Barnes Figure with the CAR-15. The magazin of the Original weapon was broken, so i add a new and also add a new barrel with flash hider from spare parts. Still work to do and then i will prime the Figure and repaint it with vallejo paints. Hope you like it so far.

Greetings

Stefan

Simply awesome figure

I look forward to purchasing these from you. Every time I save alittle money you come out with some great figures that I just have to purchase. Great job, keep up the outstanding work.

Thanks,friends.
Stefan, figures look fresh and interesting. If honestly.I even do n`t thought that anybody will be use BRAVO-6 figures for conversion.I hope that I`ll see finished figures in dio or vignette!
Good Luck!
Vladi

fine stefan

Hi Stefan, i am Mario from Italy.....i saw your trasformation imagine and thet are fine...but i understood thr type of head that you used to convert the BRAVO 6 rto....what would you do with that figure? i think that the second aussie nam of BRAVO6 its ok to trasform in us gi ...for the type of unuform he has...instead the first its difficult ...impossible almost!!!We will see the third and the fourth.Yes ,they are fine aussie figures ,that vladi realized ,but its fine WILL trasform them to use with the other Plaaton us nam figure. For this reason i ll buy two of each!!!!I have ordered the Viet cong of BRAVO 6 a few days ago from SOCKELSHOP....I read that you received them already...which are their dimension? Will be possible to use them with figure of Hobby Fan and Verlinden or Jaguar? I saw in your images that you are using various Hobby fan nam figures and Legend figures for a diorama.....have you same images of this?I am working on a diorama with a buddah statue in 120 mm,then allarged the base and the walls ,so that i have more space available and i am using and trasforming same nam gi in jungle ,fighting in a last stand around the Buddah....interesting work ...in particular trasforming the us fighiting nam gi on the market....i am using Hobby fan, verlinden, legend, jaguar, barton figures , a pair of belgo resin figures on the floor and a pair of bravo6.(dont worry Vladi.... i ll realize a static diorama with all the group of your bravo 6 figures, adding the future fourth sitting gi you are realizing...)...its long but beauty work...in particular realizing new dynamic figures using a mix and match of pieces figure!!!!Bye Mario.
