Norman Knight - Bestsoldiers,
This is the latest release from Bestsoldiers of Italy, Norman Kinight. Sculpted for Bestsoldiers by Salvatore Miraglia.
All parts are well protected during transport in a black corrugated box with three layers of foam sandwiching and protecting all the parts. The Box has some very nice box art to use as a reference painted by Davide Decina.
The kit is 75mm in scale, nine white metal parts. The parts show a good level of detail with a minimal amount of clean up of each part. An inspection of the chainmail shows good detail and very neat sculpting. There is an option of the figure holding the flag pole in the right hand or just a spear.
The upper and lower parts of the body are cast in two sections, a test fit shows a snug fit with no evidence of any filler needed. The figure keys in nicely to the supplied base.
A close-up of the face shows nice detail and the small mould line that needs to be removed down the side of the helmet.
We can see from different angles the join on the waste line; we can also see the location point on the back for the shield.
The shield is nicely sculpted and has a wood grain pattern engraved on the inside.
Location of the shield is exact, we can see both front and back views, the front shows off the wood grain on the inside of the shield.
There are two options included with the kit using either the flag pole or just a spear in the right hand. The spear head can be used on either option although you will need to do a small amount of filing on the spear shaft to mount the spaer head.
The nearly assembled figure showing the two kit options available.
Conclusion:
Another very nice release by Bestsoldiers in a very popular scale: All parts are well protected during transport. There is a good level of detail on all parts with only a minimal cleanup, all parts fit well. Two options in the kit give the modeller the flag or spear. Highly Recommended.
