this little vignette shows two fig from Best Sodiers- 75 mm

During the French Iroquois wars, the Carignan-Salière regiment tried to find the iroquois army who did its best to avoid frontal combat.
So here we have an indian scout helping out a french soldier on patrol searching for signs of the indian army.

the little fir tree was scratched.

oil painted, and no freehand (or barely) with these figs !

this little vignette does change from what i do usually, but it was great fun even if the painting of both the coats required rather a lot of work.

Hope you like it

Very very nice
I love the flesh tones, the coats, the gradual highlights from the top to the deep shadows at the bottom..
It is a wonderful vignette.
Thanks for showing
May I ask:are you underpainting in acrylics before oil paints?
Alex

thanks !
@Alex; I usually paint on humbrol enamel - matt 63 most often (either diluted handbrushed or better still; airbrushed ). It seems to give me the best results and the minimum shininess (y)
