When Quang turned me on to this site, he called it " budding, but full of promise-- good natured and open minded( for now)". I was glad to hear that then, and continue to be impressed by those facts. There seems to be a moment in the life of every forum when a contributor takes a hit to his/her insecurity, decides that some strong expression of an opinion is needed to cover that anxiety, and the rest of us then decide that our strong opinions are now needed, and these mindless flame wars over nothing bloom out like some mutant chrysanthemum hemoroid. I really hope we can avoid this kind of kung- foolishness and remember that there is more knowledge and wisdom available to us than we will ever have time to acquire, and that we are all bozos on this bus. Here's to our golden chance to share with each other.

(y) I couldn't agree more John. It seems we have the heir apparent to HMForum. Hopefully we can avoid the pitfalls. The membership seems to have all the right qualities for friendly exchange of information. I have also noticed that critiques have been given genuinely and honestly without persons taking exception.

Kung-foolishness- I like that.

It's not the million hits that count. It's the enthusiasm.

We don't care about being thousands. All we care about is being motivated, helpful and willing.
Another good thing about this site is that everyone here has a name. ;)

I million hits in 3 months? Well it took MMHQ nearly 2 years to reach that figure and that seemed a very active site.....
sorry for the confusion

a "hit" constitutes all 'objects' for example:

one html page has 20 images on it, it would tally as 21 'hits' (the 20 images + the actual html document)

Monthly Statistics for November 2003
Total Hits 1181840
Total Files 509560
Total Pages 108479 <-pages served
Total Visits 10307 <-visitors (per session)
Total Unique Referrers 327 <-linked to pF

it looks like 1 million people but it's a million "things" accessed

btw, it's just neat to have a million anything ;)
