With little change this could be a Union infantryman. just one tiny thing though, the canteen and the haversack are worn over the waistbelt not under.

It really should be. The whole kit is more common with a Union infantryman. Not saying anything bad about the figure it's pretty awesome. Just shave off the "CS" and you are good to go.
