Hmmm! Although it is a very nice sculpt! ..(in its own context). IMHO,.. I was expecting something a little bit more, or just as visually powerful! after the fantastic, '101'st Airborne', release. This seems to be a bit of an 'anti-climax', for myself :(
However, I am sure that this will be very much appreciated by others!;)

Regards,

Mark

Beautiful sculpt but it's Tom friggin' Cruise. Why? There are lots of Cruise as Stauffenberg models out there already, including good 1/6 portraits. Why couldn't they have applied their skills to an actual portrait of Stauffenberg? Now I wish there was a "DISLIKE" button on site. This could have been soooo much more. And no eye patch?

Colin, I may be wrong - to me it seems that left one in the hat is indeed Tom Cruise, but the one on the right without a hat looks like the man himself.

He certainly resembles Cruise less - also have a look at the shape of his ear - its more like your reference pictures and different to sculpt on the left (which indeed does have eye patch)

Are there 2 different heads?

The two heads are definitely different. The one on the left is clearly Tom Cruise, but the one on the right looks Von Stauffenberg to me.

Whichever way, they are beautiful sculpts, if there are two head options then its a fantastic touch by Nuts Planet. They really do seem to be the figure manufacturer to watch at the moment.

This is young Ahn Jun-Sik showing once again why he is frankly unbeatable in replicating existing people: Check noses and ears, for instance.

All you guys are looking at a two portrait study: On the left aging Tom Cruise in his almost fifty. On your right the real Claus Von Stauffenberg, the man who tried to put an end at a world in flames.

Most probably, the eye cover from both real character and movie actor will come as a separate part. And a desirable one too: Fans of War of Worlds can find a highly conversion potential in this figure.

I sincerely wonder where the talent of Ahn Jun-Sik comes from! I wish I had in my veins just 5% of his skills!

Sorry I see Cruise in both. I see what you mean about the ears but If the right one is not supposed to be CvS he needs a nose job. The write-up says nothing about 2 different head sculpts, only hat and no hat. Sorry to be cranky but CvS is my special interest and I have been waiting for a good bust of him. Grrrrrr.

I will wait for better pix before cranking further. And the sculpts are great. Streets ahead of anything I could ever do.

Hmmmm:

The bust Shows "Schauffenberg" with the rank insignia of an "Oberst im Generalstab". (two stars on braided epaulettes) He received this rank on 1 July 1944. Since his serious wounds in Africa on April 7, 1943 in which he lost his left eye, he wore an eye patch.

And I agree: The left head looks like Tom Cruise.

The sculpts are MOST DEFINITELY both of Tom Cruise. Cruise and Stauffenberg look only vaguely like one another, with Stauffenberg having a straight, thin nose, stronger jaw line, more pointed chin etc.

The lack of a hat and visor on the right photo, and the shadow it casts, seems sufficient to stump many.

But the ear is clearly different. I agree an attempt was made to get the hatless version to look like the real personality. I will hold my fire on the degree of success until seeing frontal pix if him. There are not that many good photos of CvS in the mid- war period.

I will likely buy this and give the hatted head of Cruise to the cats to play with.

Wow, what a missed opportunity! Sorry folks, both head sculpts are Tom Snooze - the only difference being with hat or without. Well, and that little bitty ear, I guess. Neither one resembles the real Stauffenberg. A nice bust of the real Stauffenberg would be something of a must have for me. A great sculpt of Tom Snooze would be ...... meh? :meh: Who cares?

Absolutely gorgeous sculpt. Too bad it is Tom Cruise....... :(

Mike, do me a favor and superimpose both heads in Photoshop (yes, different angle, I know) - clearly different heads, different ears, shape of nose etc. Why would there be a difference (at all??) from a single master model head that surely is cast and amended to give a different head version?

I would never think Cruise if someone shown me the head on the right without background info.

I am sure Nuts planet will clarify the mystery soon :D

There, out of pure curiosity. I don't think they look like a mirror image.

I may be wrong of course and a simple explanation is that Jun-sik Ahn is not capable of sculpting 2 ears that look same. Pity.

There are differences but the question is - is the right hand bust a good portrait of Stauffenberg? That is up to individual opinion. First pic as a young man. Rest during the war.

I would have to see more, but to me, they look different. And frankly, I would rather have the Tom Cruise bust from the movie, just as I am glad they did Damian Lewis instead of the real Dick Winters.
