Hi guys,

here's something that I've been busy with as of late. Progress had been rather slow due to an unfortunate hard-disc crash at work :( .

GDMGGunner001.jpg

The head is a remodelled Hornet head with the helmet and MG-34 from DML, Gen 2 and other accessories from Tamiya.
The replacment barrel from the MG-34 is an offering from Schatton Modellbau (http://perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/...tton/sm3512.htm) but I opted to re-use the muzzel attachment from DML for the obvious better details. More work remains especially correctingthe tension on the MG sling.

cheers,

Calvin

Awesome Calvin!
Will he be holding anything in other hand as I see his fingers were cut off, or a resculpt of hand? Can't wait to see painting process also. I always look forward to any of your postings.

Hey calvin,

Excellent job, as usual!

I am just guessing here but the straps look like they are photo etched items.....

I can't wait to see this guy painted!

Looks fine Calvin!

How do you do those straps?

Cheers
Hi Janne,

sorry of the late reply. I've been experiencing some problems with my PC of late and I'm glad that's finally settled.

The straps were made from paper stifffen with super glue as well as rolled putty with talcum powder as a mediator. No particular reason as to why; just plain convenience.

cheers,

Calvin

Calvin - Excellent sculpting! Your work always shows such marvelous attention to detail. Is the field equipment harness made from brass sheet with added sculpted putty and wire? I'd like to understand how you did those.

All the best,
Dan
Dan and Klaus,
the "Y" straps and the buckles are a photo-etched offering from Aber which is sufficient to detail four figures. You got to hold your breath when you attach the buckles though; you don't want to be picking your nose and sorting through booger to find that small part!

Hi Calvin,

Nothing better then see this in flesh. Thanks for bringing it over to M-Workshop yesterday and really enjoy seeing the details. Thanks for the hospitality...

Hi Allan,

glad to know that you're back at home. It was also a pleasure to see your figures in the flesh too!
Good luck with the judging at the Tamiya contest in Malaysia over the weekend!

cheers,

Calvin
