Those slates are fabulous. Extremely nice. What did you use for the moss?

Nice work on the tiles, having been on the odd slate roof before the look good.

Only just noticed the expression on the face, a bit of an 'oh bugger' moment!

By my calculation this is mk8 and I’m still not sure I’m happy with it. I think this is rapidly becoming a personal record for do overs. I’ve even painted a German infantryman in between attempts.

He's looking good though, but I reckon the Observer Corps isn't his calling if he let a German Infantry man get past him!

I was going to suggest pin stripe ..but maybe not !

I think I’m getting back on track now. I need to stop overthinking it and remember it’s meant to be something I enjoy. Tempted to give him striped trousers but I’m not sure yet.

I understand you perfectly Paul, even if it remains a pleasure, sometimes we are tempted to go to the bottom of things when we have a very precise idea in mind. I am currently still working on my bust of Athena and the retakes are numerous and daily....

We are always our own worst critics, and of course we always see things we could improve. But sometimes you just have to say get the piece finished and save some of the "possible" improvements for the next project. I really like the character in the face, it's got a nice "f*** me, look at all those bombers" feel about it.....
