Hi to all ,

Now we all know that when 01.jpg announce a release you can bet your last dollar it will be something special and without doubt impressive.

So they have recently released a fantasy piece from the Norse mythology it is of course :
Odin -The Ruler of Asgard
00.jpg
In mythology Odin was the ruler of Asgard and the home of the gods including Thor , who I am sure we all know of. Odin has used his wisdom to keep peace whenever possible.
Legend has it that Asgard exists in another dimensional plane and is about the size of the United States. It is not round like the Earth, does not spin on its axis, and does not revolve around the sun. It is a flat, asteroid-like mass that has a top surface with a gravitational pull, similar to that of the Earth’s, in order to keep the citizens and their cities from floating into the void.
The matter on Asgard is also denser and more durable than the matter on Earth. There is an unknown force that keeps the surfaces of Asgard from eroding and from allowing its bodies of water from drifting off into space. Asgard has unknown intervals of day and night, it is unclear as to whether it uses Earth’s sun as a source of light, and there is no evidence that the seasons change.
Lets have some details on the release

Odin 003.jpg
Prep
Torso and arm...Remove casting plug on each
Brooch Pin...Fit to cloak on left torso
Raven/head...Small casting remnant from both and fit together
Staff pieces...Small casting block to remove and pin the lower part into hand
Base....Fit if using to the underside of the main torsoOdin 004.jpg
I have no hesitation to say that the casting is sublime and first class , smooth in all areas on the undersides , definition of the details and the undercuts must be some of the best I have had the pleasure to handle..
Nuts Planet is one of the industry leaders IMO with the words TOP QUALITY not seeming enough to describe the products .
Lets look at the Main Torso , this is the largest of the pieces and depicts Odin with a patch over one eye , head turned to the right and sporting a long braided beard ....a physically powerful man in all ways.
Odin 005.jpg
Odin 006.jpgOdin 007.jpgOdin 008.jpgOdin 009.jpgOdin 010.jpgOdin 011.jpg
The cloak he wears is again full of texture and on his left shoulder we see a finely worked circular brooch.
The hair de
tails and definition are stunning , wonderful long hair sitting on his left shoulder and hidden under the left
Facial work is of a wise and strong man , a leader of the highest level , the work on the patch and the open eye are really good .
Odin 014.jpgOdin 013.jpg
Around his neck we see a torque with a beaded necklace with magic and powerful charms including a small hammer and a crescent together with various teeth .
Around the middle we have a clasp which again shows amazing sculpting skill matched only by the exceptional casting we are being treated to.
Odin 012.jpg
Now to his Arm , this allows us to see the power of the man both in strength and sense , the cloth has a nicely done textured surface with the shoulder being armoured by a plate with abeautiful Celtic style design, this is held in place by a strap which has been given the same care and attention in detail , on his wrist we have a protector with a matching design , all areas shout QUALITY to me .

A great start to the review remaining pieces in next post

Onto the final parts

The Staff consisting of 2 pieces (see main picture) , the top being cast into the hand the lower needing fitting ( I would suggest pin it) ., again we see the sculpting skill not only in the lichen growing on the staff , the roots and knurled branches all rising up to form a bird like feature ...scary enough on its own!!!

The hand is strong looking , veins straining on the top , well defined , the fingers are excellent in position and shape , fit to the arm is easy with no filler being needed.
Odin 019.jpgOdin 020.jpg
The Bird...Raven type! , it looks initially a bit big but when on the shoulder of Odin looks right IMO , , you will need to fit the head to the body , again easy to do with minimal filler needed , we have really well shown feathers , the wings are held back against the body , slightly apart at the back , the head has a dangerous looking beak with beady eyes that seemed to follow me around!!!
Odin 022.jpgOdin 024.jpgOdin 023.jpgOdin 025.jpg
The Base , this is the standard style we see with the busts , suitable for the job , but as always I recommend pinning it .

Final Thoughts

QUALITY , QUALITY ,QUALITY is evident in all areas of this release , a painters piece for sure , covered in different textures all adding to the interest and enjoyment , this is a fantasy modellers dream subject and one which will without doubt be popular and enjoyed by all when on the bench
