I know what your thinking, its only taken me two days to paint this bust, no, its taken a while but instead of uploading every step, I take pictures as I go. It makes for a shorter WIP and you lot dont get bored with the waffle.
So here he is, finished today.
Thanks PeeDee for the shading of the black braid, I used British uniform light (AK3082) mixed with black. On the sword hilt I used sepia ink over gold.
Hope you like the bust, now onto something else.
Regards

He has turned out really nice Bob
Well impressed
Mick

Very nicely painted Bob. It looks a nice bust to paint, that's quite an intense stare he's got and really adds to the piece.

Wow !

So glad the black trick worked as you wanted Bob ! ;):)

He is imposing isn't he ?
(I may have to get this now....)

Paul

yes I like it bob, lovely greens

Thank you all for the great comments and yes he is a great and very imposing bust. very well cast with some neat undercuts. Thats Stormtrooper for you.
Paul you wont be sorry if you get one.
Regards to you all may your brush never dry out.

Beautiful work. Particularly on the leather, with the glove most impressive. Can you share the technique you used?

The leather belt has some very fine detail so its not all my work.
I undercoated the belt and glove in thinned black acrylic. over this was a coat of thinned lamp black oil, I then left this to dry for 2 days.
Then dry brushed with burnt umber oil and high lights with lamp black with some yellow ochre added.
Many thanks for the comment.

Beautiful job Bob! You've got the Rifle green spot on too. What mix did you use by the way, as it's not an easy colour to get right. Also any idea if they're planning on releasing this as a full figure? If they do I'd buy it like a shot!

Well done and excellent green
Cheers

A famous regiment and a paintjob to match its history!Lovely.

Oda.

John; thank you very much:happy:
Windy; The green's, over a nearly black undercoat, forrest green with some black added, for the next step, forrest green with a little less black, highlights are forrest green with a touch of sherwood green and finish with a final highlight forrest green , sherwood green and a touch of spring green.
Hope that helps
Phil; this was one I wanted to do for a while now and being officer class I wanted a clean finish.
Oda; Appreciate your kind coment, thank you.
