Thanks Carl! I appreciate that. Like I said, I don't want to hijack your thread.
This one is absolutely huge and much flatter than the other medallions I've seen (not that I've seen a bunch but a good amount) I like this plaque but then again I don't. lol!
It's an Andalusian in native tack. I love the accuracy of the tack but unfortunately the horse has some conformation and proportion issues.
I want to paint it but then again the issues kinda distract me so I don't know if I paint it or sell it.
This is the last one I have a picture of, a Friesian stallion.
This is fun. It's been great seeing just how much the two hobbies have in common. I don't understand why they seem so far apart. All the girls hang out with the model horse hobby and all the guys hang out painting figures.
We need to get everyone together and throw a big painting party.
Oh wait I almost forgot! I do have one more picture of a flat for you.
That awful thing is by your's truly. lol! Oh dear it's terrible! That one I did around 1999 possibly 2001? Somewhere around that time frame. I sculpted the relief, made a mold and cast it in plaster then attempted to put a patina on it. (I made about six and the others turned out much nicer - sold them on Ebay surprisingly enough). Unfortunately between moving and computer crashes, that's the only surviving picture I have.
I had no clue what I was doing. I'd never sculpted before, had no idea how to make a mold except for a couple of books. I bombed more sculpts by getting them trapped than I care to count. So I didn't last very long in that particular endeavor.
I thought we all deserved a good chuckle. lol!
Thanks again, Carl.
Cheers,
Karrie
