Hi everybody,
I go on posting my older works... This one is three or four years old: as usual for me, it's a minor conversion of a 54 mm Metal Modeles reference. I replaced the head and sculpted the left arm. The figure is painted mainly in acrylics, with some oil for leathers, metals and gold lace. The carpet is painted in acrylics.

Subject is named Antoine-Fortunè de Brack, author of a pretty famous (at the time, at least) manual: "Cavalry Oupost Duties".

I hope you like it.

Ciao,

Awesome piece! One of the gold standards for me is when you see a 54 and it looks like it's a much larger scale, you only get this with top-class work (y)

Like on the other MM figure you posted the head change revolutionises the figure, huge improvement IMO.

Awesome work Marc! The work on the rug is first rate!
I've seen this piece done with the stock head and this head has a better expression... where did you source the head from, or is it sculpted from scratch?

Cheers

This is outstanding in every way.
For me what really does set this apart is the attention to the things like the sword knot.
Top drawer stuff.

that is exceptional for a 54 mm figure Marco ,is the gold metalics or nmg

Ron

PS just spotted the golds are oils ,superb

Hi Ron,
what I wrote is misleading... gold braid is NMG, oils over acrylics. Buttons, sabre and other gold details are TMG, printers ink and enamels over acrylics, deep shadows in oils.

Hi Colin,
head comes from an Elisena kit of a german WWII officer. The kit is now OOP. The head sculptor is Adriano Laruccia, in my opinion one of the best sculptors for heads (an not only for those!!). Of course head was modified, since the top of the head was missing (he was wearing a cap), and I also added hair and moustache.

Thank you guys,
Marco

Marco, your blues and reds looks great, i really likehow you painted the face and the expression on this lancer.
great job!

Thanks for the close -ups. That is astonishing free hand on the gold braid running up the legs
