Not as quick off the mark as Messr Geoff Charman but I’ve also made a start on the other new Stormtrooper Miniatures bust of an officer of Probyn’s Horse, 2nd Punjab Cavalry. Sculpted by Carl Reid, it depicts an Officer from the Mutiny period. It’s a one piece casting which is up to the usual Stormtrooper standards with only a small amount of clean up required. The figure is depicted wearing a fur lined pashtoon, scarf and shoulder belt with chains and pickers. There’s not a lot of the pashtoon but I might be able to get some of the obligatory patterning on along the shoulder seams and the back below the collar. I remember seeing quite a few versions of the old Latorre full figure wearing a red tunic under the fur lined jacket but the headdress was plain black. To give my version a little injection of colour I’ve opted for the headdress in blue which will have some gold striping. I’m using the box art of Stormtroopers old V12 bust of Dighton Probyn as the reference for this colouring although not sure how historically correct it is. There is a colour print which accompany the kit showing a full figure but with the spiked helmet with paggri wrapped around it.

Hi Neal

Great looking piece of resin being brought to life , like the turban colour choice

Needless to say ...following

Happy benchtime

Stays safe

Thanks Nap. Just thought it might add a bit of interest than a plain black version.

A super start Neal you certainly have a head start mate, I have only done the whites of his eyes on my Johnny Reb as I have got a leaking water tank in the loft and have had to clear a lot of stuff out of the way and sort the unwanted bits for the refuse tip just to find the leak. It's not a bad one but very annoying with this lockdown on.

Still we are not in a competition and will hopefully return to the bench in a couple of days.

Keep up the good work

Hi Geoff, sorry to hear about the leak issues. Hope you’ve managed to get sorted and looking forward to seeing Johnny Reb progress when you get back to the bench. Thanks for commenting.
