I purchased this 1/6th bust from Stu at Stormtroopers as it was released a little while ago.

He came as a nice one piece bust and with minimal cleaning up so after washing and priming I started on the eyes first with Vallejo acrylics, then I gave them a coat of acrylic gloss varnish. When that was drying I started painting the basic coat on the turban, the white and gold will be painted a bit later.
When the eyes and blue had dried I painted the face using my usual tubed Artist's oils,

This will now be left to dry before doing any more, maybe tomorrow pm or Wednesday.

Bye for now, stay safe,
Geoff

Nice work as always, Geoff. I like what you’ve done with the eyes & turban, it always amazes me how you crank these busts out so quickly.

Thank you Chris, I think I must have a different technique than most when it comes to acrylics, after watching others painting with umpteen washes at shows. I was brought up using enamels where 2-3 thin coats was enough and I do have a lazy streak and they say that to find the easiest way to do a job is to ask a lazy bugger.

Painting faces in Artist's oils usually takes me about an hour once the eyes are done and dry with acrylics.

More work on the turban hopefully tomorrow.

Cheers

Top shelf Geoff. My word your painting has improved by leaps and bounds since you first posted such a short time ago. Practice makes perfect .

Well I've just finished him, really enjoyed this one, roll on the next 1/6th bust as I love the size but would like a bit more of the shoulders and body, but if that's all I can get I will take it.

So the pics,
