Hi everyone.
My latest from MMM 200mm.
This was a weird one to paint due to it's size. The jacket and trousers and crossbelt were airbrushed with Tamiya acrylic's.the rest is oil's and acrylics.
I enjoyed painting this but was a struggle at times due it's size.
Any way hope you enjoy.
All the best.
Ralph.

Amazing brushwork Ralph!
The jacket is fantastic as everything else is, the face is full of character and pride !
Congratulations!!

That's very nice indeed Ralph, I particularly like the subtle but effective shading of the breeches. (y)

Thanks Roger,much appreciated.
All the shading was done first with gloss black thinned about 20 paint 80 thinner.
Then the same mix of flat white was brushed on in several thin layers.
Ralph.

Lovely work Ralph...got this one to do myself I would be well happy if it comes out as good as yours...Kevin

Great work Ralph!

The face is exceptional... good tone and transitions. The eyes turned out fantastic. I like the subtle shading/highlighting on all the uniform articles from hat down to breeches. That's no mean feat at this scale!

Well done

Hi Ralph!

I like what you did in this giant.
The white is very convincing imo.

Cheers,
Pedro.

Thanks Colin,much appreciated.
I do think I'm getting better at eye's in this scale.

Nice work Ralph,
these large scale figures bring different difficult challenges re painting highlights and shadows (y)

ron
Thanks Ron.much appreciated.
Yes they do bring a different challenge, that is why I decided on the airbrush for the larger area's.
I've seen a couple of old Verlinden 200mm figures I might have a go with.
Ralph.

All the above comments are spot on Ralph.
I would like to add that everything is well balanced too
I particularly like the delicacy of the metallic lace and
the subtle painting of the angles and planes of light
on the right hand.
Lovely
Paul.

Ralph,

Nice to see another one of these showcased. I had expected to see quite a few of these after it was released but I seem to recall the bust might have been more popular.

When it came out I took the plunge and I must say it required a lot of work to push it over the finish line.

Thought you might be interested in seeing a couple of pics of my rendition.
