I almost didn't go as I was attending a workshop by the master that is Kirill Kanaev the weekend after Euro and couldn't possibly do both. However a visa issue meant the workshop was cancelled and so with refund in hand I planned for Euromilitaire instead.

I am so glad I went!

Firstly the opportunity to put names to faces, I'm quite active on social media for two reasons. The work I do for Legion of the Cow and my personal development as a painter, my painting has developed massively in the last two years, in no small part due to the critique, encouragement and motivation I receive from my peers and the masters. So finally meeting face to face the legend that is super snad, smudger, Pepe Gallardo, Fernando Ruiz, Alex Varela, sang eon Lee, Antonio Pena, Christos Panagiotopoulos oh and so many more I couldn't possibly mention them all, was really nice.

Secondly, the stands are far better, in my opinion, than those at Salute predominantly because I'm not a wargamer, so the chance of getting the latest release or a show special without shipping costs is always nice. There's always the chance of coming across something you've not seen before, especially for me as up until a few weeks ago I've had no interest in historical figures, yet at Euro I picked up some Templars from FeR!!

Thirdly, the competition hall! OMG!!

The standard was ridiculous, I have never seen so much quality in a show before, I was suitably intimidated!! I took so many photos I had to delete old ones from the iPad to create more memory so I could take more lol!! There were so many figures and busts that I saw that I now want based simply on the inspiring paintjobs I witnessed.

To then come away with a highly commended and two bronze medals in the Fantasy category totally made my weekend! One mistake I made though was taking my two boys, one has just turned two the other isn't even two months old, next year will be a kid free weekend And I intend on going down on the Friday as well so I can have a few bevies with my friends.

I won't show you too many pictures as I'm sure you've seen them all already but here's a small selection. Also when I posted up a picture of my medals and their display stand today, the post got a lot of interest, so il include a picture of that too, the stand if you're interested is made by Jon Page of Sphere Products, you can PM him in Facebook or meet him at shows.

Thanks for reading, until the next time!!

It was great to meet you to jason,I'm pleased you had a great time and it will be good if you make it on Friday next year, that's always a great night in the southcliffe bar or in the town, congratulations on your awards and I hope you have many more successful years at Euro :)

Jason,
I am so glad that you had a great time and met so many of your new friends. That what it is all about and is very rewarding. To win a couple of medals was icing on the cake and just sweetened the whole deal. I did not go but have been to several shows here in the states and a lot of the attendees feel almost like family without the arguments.
Cheers
John

Glad to see your enthusiasm for the Euro experience coming through Jason, the post Euro buzz has always been a great painting motivator for me. The competition Hall has always been an inspiration to push my work to a higher level, you learn a lot from what's on view and from talking to the plethora of world class painters. It's one of the highlights of my year. Great to see you there this year and look forward to next.

Alex.

Hey everyone, thanks for your kind words! Yeah I had a great time, looking forward to next year already! I'm currently toy writing a blog post about Euro for my Legion of the Cow blog too, was really nice meeting some of you guys!!

I don't think you'd get malc mixed up with other people mate.

bet it was the young debonair handsome spanish gentleman in a
black t-shirt from my model club called Mario :D

Malc was much more formally tailored for the occasion !
