OIF US Tankers Update

Hello Gents
A few weeks after I posted last images of my OIF US Tankers,
I finally have someting to show. Comments are welcome.

I still have to decide whether I would go with new Marine CVCs
or old Army CVCs for these figures.

Wow, very nice folds. I wish I could do it in that way.
I think that drapery and folds are the most difficult parts of the life-like figure. And you did pretty good job. BTW what is your sculpting material?

That area on the first tankers right thigh, where he has the ties (excuse my ignorance, I ain't got a clue what they're for)...that is just absolutely gorgeous..

Well I would do both,more bang for the buck,after all you sculpted the Warriors Tank crew with CVC's keep in mind that the mic.'s are different on the current Army CVC's,and I would add a floppy/boonie hat also.Mrosko

There really isn't any difference between the Army and Marine CVC helmets. We all wear the kevlar shell on our CVC's now. As far as the boom mike goes, you can find both on a new CVC. What if your new boom mike breaks and you can't find a replacement? Out comes the old mike and you can actually see this now on Army and Marine tankers. So Taesung, just make them with the new style CVC and they can both be either Army or Marine. Let the painter decide. As far as other heads, I have to side with giving them kevlars. If your CVC comes off, your'e really not going to be in a "hot" zone with something flimsy that won't stop the rain, much less a bullett!

To answer some of your questions,
a) I use Ave's Apoxy putty.
b) I decided to go with newer CVC head and kevlar head for
each of these figures.

The figures still need more TLC here and there.

Superb sculpting job!. I wish I had just half of the talent you do.
Any idea when these two will be available for sale ?,.... some time in early June I presume judging from your usual schedule.

I don think that most modelers realize that you include two head's for each figure in every release that you produce. A modern head set would kick ass also,USMC utility cover a BDU hat and a floppy would make a great set.Mrosko

Thanks for the answer. One more question if you don't mind. How do you make Apoxie Sculpt not translucent? Do you use one of the colored Ave's putty? I'm asking because currently using Cream Apoxie Sculpt which is a bit translucent - that's makes sculpting more difficult since you cannot see all the details.

I use Ave's Apoxy in white. It is solid white.
I plan to color it somehow so I can see the details
better.

Hola Teasung!

I would suggest trying to use a bit of Andrea Fields Gray when you mix the two parts of putty together, not much but just a little bit. This will give the putty a green tint which is much easier to see when making details etc.
