Hi all,
I have a problem when using N&W oil.
Usually after a few strokes (i.e. half of the 54mm face), a couple of tiny grains start to form on the painted area. It's quite annoying to try removing them especially when that part is almost done .
Can you tell how to avoid this? Is it a problem with the oil, or the brush ( not well cleaned), or the terpentine that I am using for cleaning.
Robert

Robert to be honest with you I never encountered such problem with W&N oils. The tiny grains can be a not properly cleaned brush. I can't really think of anything else. Those grains can stick on your brush from the tissue that you wipe the brush, or from the dust around.

Thanks gentlemen,
From you replies, it seems that the problem is coming from the brushes, as I always painted the next day after undercoating the little guy.
It also occured when I tried to remove extra paints.
I'll be careful the thinner too.

Robert:

What are you cleaning brushes on? You should be using lint free rags. If you are using tissue (Kleenex, etc) that is most likely source where your grains are coming from. The other source maybe from where you are storing your brushes. When I know I will not be painting for a while, I store the brushes in the tray of a tool box that I use for my painting materials. Over time dust/debris will collect in the tray and so can contaminate the brushes. In this situation I will clean my brushes before using them.

Hi Paul,
I used Kleenex, kitchen towels. :(
And just keep them in a jar on the desk :(
Guess we've found the problem, aren't we?
Thanks
