This is a conversion that I have just about finished on the sculpting side of things, now on the list to be painted.

It's a conversion of the Baldrick bust 1/9 scale from Mitches Military miniatures, into a full figure of
"old Bill" from the WW1 magazine "Fragments from France" by Bruce Bairnsfather.

It depicts Old Bill in the stance of the famous French poster, of a French soldier standing with rifle and fixed bayonet "They shall not Pass" Bruce Bairnsfather drew an "Old Bill" version of the same poster, so this is my version of the same subject.

Mostly converted with milliput, the face was changed ie nose, moustache & pipe added, chin and eyebrows added, the rifle and water bottle came from my spares box, everything else was scratch built by myself,
he'll be wearing the popular leather jerkin under all that kit, at the moment his kit is just blue tacked together for the photos, he's now ready for priming, except the cap badge needs to be changed to the Warwickshire Regiment as per Old Bills unit.

Hope you like him

Cheers

Hi Jim,

Wonderful use of milliput again.
You'd never guess it's Baldrick under there.
Look forward to your painting.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Jimbo

You’ve done it again.......single handily keeping the putty companies in business !

Certainly plenty of character in this ......cracking eyebrows and moustache.....did you rework the ears as well ?

Great selection of “vital” equipment hanging off , nice frying pan and the German helmet looks really good

You’d best get the badge done and get painting .......oh and don’t forget get a bigger travelling box

Have fun

Absolutely brilliant mate, saw this on the table at Yeovil, chatting too much and I forgot to mention it.
Look forward to seeing some paint on it.

Super piece of sculpting Jim. I particularly like the pickelhaube.
Will be fabulous when painted up.

Hope to meet up again soon, not allowed to drive yet so shows and club a no go at the moment,
Bill

Thanks Bill glad you like him, hopefully you're picking up with your recovery, even though it's a slow old process, stick at it mate.
I've also missed the last club 3 meetings for one reason or another, hoping to go to the May meet,
look after yourself ....keep taking the pills (y)
Cheers
Jim
