I don´t like remakes very much.
I saw Peter Jackson´s King Kong with my thirteen years old son and was too long. Kong remind us Jackie Chan in some moments! We are great fans of Jackson´s Lord of the Rings but this film wasn´t better than the 1933 original.
I would like a modern aproachment to "Storms of steel" of Jünger in the way opened by the magnificient Band of Brothers.
If it is obliged to elect a remake would say:"A bridge too far".
By the way, have somebody appreciated similarities between tha last part of "Saving private Ryan" and a german film of 1959, "Die Brücke"(the bridge)?

Yo Guys
Dan, Gary--my next question was going to be what books would you like to see put on film?

John
At the moment two come to mind.~Gary

Braddock at the Monongahela by Paul Kopperman (The definitive book on Braddock's campaign to take fort Duquesne)

Antietam: The soldier's battle By John M. Priest (this has to be one of the best books on the battle of Antietam)
