Colin Semenenko, Zeno Mladin and I attended the annual Ontario Model Soldier Society show held inside Old Fort York in Toronto. Fort York is a reconstructed c. 1812 fort and provides as really evocative setting for a figure show. The show include model figures, 1/6 action figures and toy style soldiers (bands etc.).

We were all lucky enough to win some awards and had lots of figure banter amongst ourselves and with other contacts. We also had our own tailgate party as Zeno and Colin rooted through my old box of Historex spares that had been declared surplus. All in all a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon, even in the rain.

Yes, a very good way to spend a day, indeed! Great and friendly company! Show was great, indeed! Very well organized!
Unfortunately, the weather didn't helped to much but we didn't care and we had the tailgate party going through Colin's Historex surplus spares. Man, I can do that for days...
Awesome day!
Cheers,
Zeno

What a great location for a model show! A fully restored Napoleonic fort/museum in the heart of the largest city in Canada. Some really cool displays and artifacts from the British and Canadian militia units involved in the War of 1812 and after. I hadn't been here since I was in grade school (when I was allowed to fire a musket!), it's back on my list of favourite places in Toronto... Right behind Casa Loma and the seedier sections of Queen Street West ;)

If you ever visit Toronto, you must check the fort out. It's worth the $8.
