I am asked about this figure - is it a Recast. I bought this figure in December 2019 in the Russian online store ( most often I bought on the Pegaso website). The box was branded, but the casting was unexpectedly for me from the resin. I immediately began to search for information on the Pegaso website, and saw that this company is now casting from resin too. I calmed down. I have been buying figurines and busts from Pegaso for about 15 years, I love and respect this company, and I would not buy recast, and even if I accidentally bought recast, I would neither paint nor sell it.

Great news above that Pegaso are now reissuing some of their older metal figures in resin. However I can't find anything on their Web site. Anyone have any more info on this??

Yes, I also don’t see the classics in resin on their Web site, so I sent an email to Pegaso, аttached photos of boxes and casting. Waiting for a reply from them.

Pietro Balloni (PEGASO MODELS) answered me, quote:
"these kits come from our collaborator and one and lonely reproduction licence owner: Mr. Dmitri Baev.

He has the licence to officially reproduce some of our kits for the Russian market. His products are in resin. He uses copies of our boxes and our official photos. For this reason I think that you have bought officially licensed products.

The only question is: I don’t know the name of the russian website used By Dimitri Baev for the selling of these Kits. If the kits become from him: They have our complete approuval."

Dmitry Baev also confirmed that he works with this online store and this is his castings.
I am now absolutely calm for my reputation !!! I’ll go have tea with lemon and eat a pie with lingonberries - it always improves my mood)))
Best regards,

Thanks for posting this Olga, it does clear up some questions regarding recasting from Russia and it is interesting to see that Pegaso are licensing the reproduction of some of their products.

It does throw open the dilemma of how do you tell a recast from a licensed reproduction. The fact that the licensed products are in Pegaso Boxes rather than in plain boxes or just jiffy bags with bubble wrap should be a good indication to anyone confused by this move.

PS Olga I did try Russian Caravan Tea with milk but it wasn't very nice. I had been advised to use lemon clearly the way to go next time...LOL.....meanwhile I'll stick to numerous daily cups of Assam.

I recently read Harry Potter and the philosopher's Stone in the original language :) I gave a present to my niece - a book from the Bloomsbury - gift edition with Jim Kay's drawings - very beautiful! My niece hadn’t read yet, but I read ;)
