Hi Ulrich, rubbish planning on my part. I'm always in Garmisch Partenkirchen during easter but my wife has to take school holidays and these are now set for first two weeks in April.
I've been to 3 HvB shows and had a great time.
One of my great friends David Mitchell, who is a regular on this site is going this year, he's staying at the 'Anker' and I'm definitely going back next year. Have a great show.
Cheers

Derek: Please say him, he is very welcome. If he want, he can find me at my table with my bases in the basement or at the figure registration in the show. I am the guy with glasses and no hair on my head and I will wearing a black shirt with a "BBSB" sign on it

Home again, not thrilled but still I'm back over twice before the end of the year.......David I've left you some beer, although I did have a good shot at it.
Recommend Augustiner Brau Edelstoff as a great session beer.
Cheers

Did Ben like your new outfit:)
No go..got fun oot for the dour scots presbyterian that I am....suppose the rangers t shirt was a bit of a give away.

I have for the last 20 years visited some of the memorial chapels in the villages around Garmish Partenkirchen. Being agricultural and forestry communities there are relatively few family names and its fairly easy to trace the links between individuals. Each year I'm deeply moved by the stories and the photographs of the soldiers young and old who didn't return to their families. Whole male lines in families, father, sons, brothers just disappeared into the Russian winter....... the sheer waste of many lives driven by the madness of a few. Whats particularly touching is that these lost souls are actively remembered in such a visible way by the local communities
