Greetings everyone-
I have not posted here in quite a while..... my bad. Here is my 120mm scale vignette using Jeff Shiu figures. This project took me a year of part time work to complete. I was very deliberate on the composition, as I wanted to portray the chaos and urgency of the battle on the beaches of Normandy.
The figures have very dynamic poses; unfortunately as others have mentioned, they have some anatomy issues and are very poorly cast and required massive amounts of cleanup/repair/re-sculpting. The weapons for the most part were not usable. My son 3D printed some M1's and I grafted the good parts onto the originals. At the end of the day though, it all came together.
The figures were painted with acrylics. Using various mediums (probably everything in the art store) I made the water - added foam, surf and bullet strikes.
There will be a complete article on the construction in issue 213 (January 2024) of Model Military International. Please support them by buying or downloading a copy.
Thanks for looking.
