"On To Another Battle" by Andy Meyers

While doing the recent Fireman bust review that was produced by Special Ops I had the chance to look over Andy Meyers web site and spotted his "Sherman". I was amazed to see a 1/9th scale (200mm) full scale model that took over 5 years to complete and assemble. Of course my interest was peaked by the figures and after emailing with Andy over the months we discussed the Sherman at length.

Figures ~ Each figure is a "One-off" sculpted by the master John Rosengrant and made specifically for this model. The figures were in turn painted by Andy Meyers himself. The tank is an amazing feat of engineering and modeling where even the tank treads have over 1000 pieces. Below I have selected several photos of the model from Andy's web-site and have posted a hyper-link so you can see the remaining photos.

I have seen this diorama in person and some of the subassemblies during construction and I have to say the engineering is out of this world. Andy showed me the .50 cal in Atlanta few years back, and everything worked on it...total madness and perfection!

I also did a 1/16 scale M1A1 Abrams Tank on a Dio, and a 1/16 Type 7 German U boat all scratch built... That one is over 9' long....
