Hi all,
Wanted to share this pic as a reference.
He was a young musician when I took him through training as his Drum Major and he then changed over to the ranks.
A good lad who I think has done 3 tours, was very proud to also be present on his Kings Squad Parade.

Another image sent to me, looks a bit unique and different from the norm as it is pre deployed and obviously an amphibious entry, which we are proud of 'By Sea by Land'. I have more details but I think the image captures him, would make a superb bust.

CGS doesn't really cover modern day but I think the time may be coming soon.
Anyway, they may give some inspiration
Best wishes
Gra

Hi Kev,
No worse than the modern figures already, although I can't paint it :)
It was capturing the pre amphibious landing that has inspired me.
Have sent a few references, would love the latter as a bust.
Best wishes mate

Great pics! I agree the latter would make a great bust. The first proves that multi cam works even in a poppy field. Hope Mr. Corry sees these pics.

Defiantly, I noticed how the green disappears and to be honest I think too many figures are painted with old habits of the cam we wore before.
The whole idea of this was to blend in anywhere, I was serving as it came in and saw the initial digi cam copied from the US but very very limited. I usually saw it at Poole :)
When the new cam came out (first image ) we were showed about a dozen picture of the old and new in all environments , the new drags you back to the background and is unassuming in all colours, where the previous was great but only in certain areas.
I have never tried to paint it but sometimes I feel when painted it is overpowered by one colour or another where it shows overall it is very bland and nothing dominates, hence why so effective

Could not agree with you more about this camo pattern, exactly why it is effective and hard to paint well. I tried it once, and it kicked my ass. But I am gonna try it again. Damn it.

Don't worry! 3-D Painter Printers are right around the corner. Just program the camo scheme you want and presto!, job is done! Show categories are changed from Advanced Painters to Advanced Printers.
