Hey guys,

I wanted to show some progress of Gary's beautiful figures. I will try to get them both done in the near future. I decided to work on the bending over one first. The reason, like I told Gary is the standing one is my favorite ;) and I did not want to spoil it for the other one. Gary has done a great job and I hope that this will be ok. I still have more tweaking to do on the socks, it only took 6 tries before I got them to where they now.

Simply superb Joe as always...your tarten patern is awesome, but what strikes me even more is the way you handled the pattern of the socks. How did you do that; it's specatcular!

All the best my friend

Patrick

Excellent work so far Joe. The belly box is what impresses me. I love the emblem and the distressed look.

Joe, Great job! I have always admired this print from Griffing. Gary has done a nice job on the figures. Your paint job is super! I can't wait to see them in person. Will they make it to Atlanta? Look forward to seeing this one completed.

Best of Everything, Terry Martin

Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words. I hope to get a few more pictures sometime soon.

Patrick,

The sock were the biggest challenge to me and I am still not 100% happy but hope to do better on the next one. Like I said this was the result of try # 6. ;) I am not sure exactly what info you want on them but will be glad to tell you whatever you like.

John,

Thanks. I was pretty happy with it and the true test is to see if I can get as lucky on the next highlander! :(

Terry,

I will have it in Atlanta and look forward to talking with you.

Joe

Hey Joe,

I've been wondering when you would get started on these figures! I had been following the sculpting posts on these figures and was looking forward to the finished product. Great job and am looking forward to more posts!

FANTASTIC JOB,Joe (y) (y) (y) !!! I'll be following this thread very closely indeed ! Looking forward to seeing them in the "flesh" in Boston later this year. Cheers !
Kenneth.

Joe,
Am eager to hear how you were able to get the transition between the soft color and the bold diamond. Did you use acryilcs for the transition?

Thanks for your patience with me...

Outstanding figger my friend!

All the best

Patrick

Hey Joe !

If a pic of a 54mm can be magnified like that and it still looks that good, then you sure are a very good painter !!!

Great work, and especially on the tartan and socks! (y)

Did I hear someone say you found a bottle of Vallejo government pattern tartan ?

Joe is doing a great job on these, just as I knew he would. We've spent hours on the phone and computer talking about the uniforms and other details and our conversations are really paying off. Though I plan on painting some of my own one-offs, Joe and I have plans for more collaborations in the future. There is one that will really test his abilities to paint tartan. It will be a whopper! More on that project much later. Great job Joe I too can't wait to see the finished project.~Gary
