Done a fair bit more now face is almost done thanks to a lot of useful advice at Telford, see what you think any ideas always gratefully received I've blocked in and started to shade the cloak and base coated the arms and parts of the helmet. Any and all comments welcome harsh or otherwise

Coming along lovely Steve. Looking forward to seeing the helmet coming together. Depending on what you plan you can probably go to town highlighting and shading the cloak.
I've only recently started using blues on figures and have found for me that wet on dry works really well on the blue highlights, thin line of very light blue and finally a touch of Titanium White worked well in with a soft brush.

Coming along well Steve, I'd go for a bit deeper shadow in the hollow of the cheeks and maybe a bit of red to give the cheeks and nose some colour (like mine :D). If you've got that in hand disregard.

Good advice from Derek too. (y)

Roger.

Coming along Steve. Have to agree with Roger, redden the snout and cheeks a touch.
Possibly increase the shade under the cheeks.
Nasolabial fold if you want to get all anatomical.:cautious:

Yeah I plan to give him that boozy flush without looking like CoCo the clown that is, thanks for the input though folks it's much appreciated, Still dithering about the helmet with which colours to use on it not sure if I want the trim iron/silver or another gold perhaps a lighter brass type of thing, any thoughts?
Cheers

I'd suggest iron finishes to the helmet. For me it'd pick up on the blue of the cloak. Also gives a contrast with the red hair.
Cheers

Is that the one from Telford Steve ? I have to agree with Del on this either the helmet has to be a steel colour or the sections could be painted different colours . A bronze helmet would have been useless in the that period of steel , a headache would be a minor injury :dead: .
chippy

Yup Chippy it's the one I showed you at Telford, point taken re the steel but it might be his hat for parade occasions ;)

Added a bit of red to the face, any thoughts on if I need go further/less? Also done a little more on the cloak etc long way off finished on those though
Cheers
