At the end of the anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, I present to you my latest work, which represents the initial phase of this latest German offensive of 1944.
The figure, taken from an old plastic kit of the Dragon in 1/35 slightly modified, represents a German of the 150th Panzerbrigade during Operation Greif.
This unit, under the command of SS Col. Skorzeny, had the task of carrying out sabotage and disturbance missions in the American rear, in order to create traffic jams, occupy strategic bridges and modify the road signs to direct American reinforcements to other points of the front.
To do this, various captured and/or camouflaged American vehicles and uniform were used in order to blend in with the enemy; to recognize each other the Germans wore blue scarves.
The unit never reached the established goals, but they managed to create enormous panic in the American rear and a general distrust of any troop wearing the American uniform.

Excellent idea for a figure and so nicely painted and simply based to tell the story well.
Steve

thanks Steve, I really liked being able to tell a story with only one figure. Then I was intrigued by the idea of painting an American, but that in reality he would be a German.

I think you achieved this very well and even more remarkable that you used a stock Dragon figure to get this result.
Cheers

Great highlights & shading on the greatcoat & webbing - Bravo!

thank you, it's not a very easy color to make, because inside it has both a green and brown component But since the figure was very simple in its equipment, I tried to take care of the various shades of color and the effects it makes in the lights and shadows.

thanks guys, I am very pleased to know that I was able to tell a story, which maybe not everyone knew, through a single figure.

Hi!
Always a pleasure to look at your lone figures telling so much.
Always original and superbly painted!
Keep them coing!
Ciao
