This is my conversion of Latorre Models Clinch Rifles (LM-5404) to a Captain of Orr’s Rifles, 1st SC Regt of Rifles, 1861. It is based on Don Troiani’s print and at least seven period photographs I found on the internet. I had to scratch build the Hardee hat & plume as well as a new left hand. Also added the tie for a little interest. The unusual pin stripe rank insignia of the sleeves can clearly be seen in photos. Painted in acrylics.

Hello Rick, Great looking conversion. Like the colors you used on the grays, nice variations. All the details are excellent. Congrats on this one, great painting. Regards, SG:)(y)(y)

Looks awesome! I have this one primed and ready to go. Was never keen on doing the green uniform, you've sold me on painting as a "grey" regiment.

Great cnversion and paint work
Cheers

Thanks for all the positive comments. I generally like anything Latorre sculpts because of the way he handles folds and anatomy. Makes for a fun figure to paint. I have another one of these figures I finished as a "Clinch Rifles" with some minor changes that I will post later.

I'll take note Ron  ........ but in actuality I have found Mr. Troiani and the American Historical Prints a great help with specific uniform questions and their web site has a nice collection of reference photos. Most helpful and courteous folks. (y)

He was going to sue the ass off a well known member here

Love it, you certainly caught the early war uniform well, and I don't think DT cares much unless you cast it and sell it so no worries there. Wish I could convert like that. BTW is the palmetto photo-etch or free hand looks great
