Osprey MAA 437, Spanish-American War

Actually the full title is the Spanish-American War and Philippine Insurrection, 1898 - 1902. This is a relatively new title from Osprey authored by Alejandro de Quesada and illustrated by Stephen Walsh. In a few words - I like it!!!

I bought a copy this week while in a hobby shop in Long Beach. I'd been considering buying one on Amazon for a bit. Seeing it in person made me spring for the $. The illustrations are first rate and the text is very good. I have, frankly, no idea if the historical or uniform research done by Mr. de Quesada is accurate, but the uniform development details he provides are interesting.

One of the pictures inside the book is of a US soldier in the Philippines apparently waiting on a water ration issue and looking at the corpse of one of the insurrectionists. I think it would make a pretty good vignette!
