This would be my first painting attempt, so bear with me.
I found that the paint doesn’t adhere very well to the resin figure I painted. I also have the same problem with other tests I made on ‘plastic’ pieces.
For example, it is very easy to remove the paint just by rubbing my finger on the figure.
I did the following:
-Washed the figure with soap, rinse, and let it dry
-Paint with acrylic Vallejo #919 as a primer and let it dry one full day
-Applied one coat of diluted acrylic Vallejo paint (1:1) Vallejo paint and let it dry a few hours
-Applied another 1:1 coat of paint and let it dry one day.

Thanks for any help on this first problem. Actually that may be the way it should be, I just do not know!!!
Rgds.

I have always found waterbased acrylic never has the adhesion of an enamel or laquer based paint. Tamiya makes primer for plastics/metal in a spray can which you will find the Vallejo will adhere well to.

Let us know how you find it your process works.

I think the primer was the course of the problems.
You should choose a very good primer like Citadel..
I've used alot of primers but this one has the best adhesion.

There's your problem right there.

Try Painter's Touch from Rustoleum, or automotive primer which is cheap and bonds well in addition to being very tough.

I like to use Tamiya's white primer then use a very fine wet and dry to slighty scratch the surface up so that then the paint can stick a bit better.

Hope this helps, Daniel
