Paint bust for the first time

What is your opinion for first bust? Or think any of them ?

They are both very interesting, presenting different challenges.

I agree. The choice is entirely up to you.

I also agree they are both excellent,but painting a woman's flesh is different than a man's, you have to make less contrasts,the choise is always yours,wait to see a post of your progress.

I think the Mary Read one will basically prove harder to paint well, but pick the one you prefer since the more you like a sculpt the more jazzed you'll be about painting it and it tends to show in the quality of the paintwork.

Now not to start off your buying addiction but you could buy both

I bought this two busts but I will paint first the bust of Mary Read for two reasons: it will be the first bust I paint and also be the first female figure i paint too.
Also i bought a book about Mary Read, but first i go finish the project that i have in my desk and then will start the bust.
