Hi Planeteers

As a dedicated "Oil" man I have tried to switch to acrylics once or twice without much success I was wondering if anybody out there could recommend any tutorials on painting with acrylics, particulary FACES Also to include make of acrylics, thinning or not and at what percentage etc etc I occassionally use acrylics for clothing or equipment but am hopeless at faces! HELP!!

Cheers gang

Hi John, welcome to the acrylic club. The link to Jaume's article is about as good as it gets for faces. The thing you will notice straight away is the intensity of the colours compared to oils. Everybody has their own favourites for colours and shades but the principles are basicly the same. Remember keep your paints well thinned and you will be ok.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks, Kostas for the Vallejo link. That article has finally shed some light on acrylic shading techniques for me (being an oils guy). One of the best explained acrylic techniques articles I've read.

Cheers, Brent
